I'm hoping this'll be an nice, quick and easy question, the solution for which I've over looked. Is there any way to print the names of the database fields I have used instead of the fields themselves, just to double-check that I've used the intended ones?

Hi CMS,

There is a way to do this inside of PrintShop Mail, but not when printing. Inside of PrintShop Mail you can toggle the preview mode by hitting F2.

If you wanted to see the actual name of the variables when printing for a proof lets say, you could copy/paste the name inside of that variable instead of the datafield.

Hope this helps.

Marc

Hi,

If you just want to know which data fields are actually used in your document, you can look at the checkmarks in the Data Fields pane. If there's no checkmark, it means the field is not used in any object.

If you want to see exactly where each field is used, I'd suggest changing the Default Value property of each of your fields. The value of this property is displayed/printed when you don't have a database connection.

- Close the database
- Select one of your fields in the Data Fields pane
- In the Properties pane, set Default Value to the name of the field
- Repeat for the other fields

Edit: This might not work for you. It only works for relatively simple documents that don't use expressions to transform field values.
