Does anyone know if it is possible to download an older version of PlanetSearch 7, the lastest version that was still integrated into Adobe Reader? The version that separated PPS and Adobe makes using the program a bit more time consuming than what our users are using today. (PP6)

It isn't available anymore since Adobe added restrictions as to what plugins can and cannot do. That's why we had to separate PP-Search from the Adobe Reader.
Note, however, that the newly released PP-Search V7.5 allows you to open PDF files from the search results with the default system viewer. You still need to use the stand-alone PP-Search to perform the actual search, though.

Thanks for the info. I see now the upgrade and installed it and see the new feature on PS. That will make them happy.

BTW a bit off topic. When I do an update like this where does the installer go to? I will need it to distribute the new planetsearch program...

It looks like the initial download is a partial install and the rest is downloaded during install. Is there a full download that is assembled at the end?

Jason,

I think it puts the Search installer in one of the temp folders associated with your account, can't remember the exact path though. However, I do not recommend(nor do we officially support) that you use this to distribute Search, and you should instead use the full installer package, to make sure that any prerequisites are properly installed. As I've said, you can choose to install only Search during the install if you want to, you don't have to install anything else, but you should still use the official package to avoid the risk of not installing some required files and other issues.

If the fact that it download files is a problem, we now have uploaded an off-line install package that you can find here(you'll need a valid version 7 serial number):

It is considerably larger than the other package, but will include everything you need to perform an off-line install, including the Microsoft runtime files.

Perfect, the full installer is all I would need. I will redownload but I was just being lazy if it assembled the install on my server after the upgrade.

Thanks again!
