Objectif Lune and GDPR

The European Union has created a law to protect the fundamental right to privacy of every EU resident with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will come into effect May 25th, 2018. Simply put, EU residents will now have a greater say over what, how, why, where, and when their personal data is used, processed, or destroyed. While this regulation concerns the personal data of EU residents, its consequences reach far beyond the borders of the EU. Any organization that works with the personal data of EU residents in any way, irrespective of where the company itself is located, has an obligation to protect that data. Objectif Lune has always taken the privacy of the personal information and data of its customers, partners and employees to heart, but we are taking this opportunity to review and improve this commitment.

Our GDPR commitment and preparation

To show our commitment to protecting the data that is entrusted to us we have created a cross-functional team to obtain the highest industry standard certification for data protection: ISO 27001.

During the implementation phase of this international data protection standard we will be:

  • Identifying personal data that we control and process throughout the company – to ensure that it is all handled appropriately
  • Improving our business processes and controls – to ensure that data is handled, used and destroyed appropriately
  • Enhancing data integrity and security across all our systems – to ensure that all our information is secure

Objectif Lune’s products and GDPR

Our main products are risk agnostic in the context of GDPR meaning that PlanetPress, PReS, NewLeaf, MPP, PrintShop Mail and OL Connect do not store personal data. They act as middleware and so they do not create a GDPR-related risk for their users.

The only exception is Capture OnTheGo, our optional module for mobile applications. Capture OnTheGo requires a username, password and IP address for authentication and to tell the mobile application where to retrieve its templates. This information is stored and transmitted using state of the art encryption and complies with all the requirements of GDPR.
