I'm dropping variable text into a grid. The text comes to us as grid1, grid2, grid3, etc.
Each customer gets a different length message in each grid and I need to highlight one of the grids.
I don't want to change font or background color, i need to highlight (like in Word) the variable message and i need it to change with each customer, only highlighting the text.

Is this possible?

Thanks.

Using PressTalk you could make use of the SetStyleExt() procedure

If you are speaking of PrintShop Mail. PrintShop Mail does not include PressTalk

If that is the case, then unfortunately, is it not possible in PrintShop Mail.

The only workaround would be to have these texts turned into images already with the right font, color and highlight and to call them dynacmically from PSM. Then have the image name is coming from the data instead of the text itself. That is if you have any control over the incoming data.

Actually, there is a trick to get highlighted text in PSM: make your highlighted text in Word, then copy-paste it in PrintShop Mail. If you want it to be variable, use Word to type something like @MyVariable@, highlight it, then copy-paste it in PSM.

It should work, but do note that you won't be able to control the highlight from PSM itself. Also, if you just copy-paste the variable, everything else you type will be highlighted, so I'd suggest to type your normal text first, then paste the highlighted text in the middle of it.

Hope that helps!

Be careful when copying and pasting out of word for it is not always WYSIWYG. The text formatting does not always hold.

You could also consider pasting from Wordpad. While there are differences in text handling between Word and PSM, Wordpad and PSM use the exact same underlying control and there would be no chance of any formatting getting lost. Wordpad also supports highlighting text.
