Overprint Spot Colors

Overprint Spot Colors - 12/01/09 05:24 PM

I am working on a variable data piece to be printed on a Kodak NexPress using their Dimensional clear dry ink (think of it as digital thermography). The dry ink is simply a clear raised image and is achieved by printing a specially named spot color.

Most of the cards that we're printing have a color background image - and I need to be able to print the spot color over the background without knocking out to white beneath it. So far, I'm having no luck with that. Anywhere my spot color appears, the image below is being knocked out. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jim

You can change overprint settings for the entire job as described here:

Does that help?

Unfortunately there's no easy way to change overprint/knockout settings for a specific page, a specific object, all spot colors, or a specific spot color.

Sander...

Thanks for the pointer to that article. That solution appears to be working perfectly for this application.
