PDF Emulation with Hard-Coded Image Pages - DUPLEX - 02/08/19 10:26 AM

Hi ObjectIf Lune team,

We have PlanetPress PRODUCTION Suite 7.5x. I have a FORM with with multiple PDF emulation pages followed by two hard-coded pages with images on it. The two pages with images should be printed DOUBLE sided, but it is not. Any help would be appreciated. I have the latest PPD from RICOH 8220s printer.

Also, I have set the first hard-coded page to "Long-Edge" and second page is set to "Default" Duplexing. All other PDF paged are set to Duplexing - OFF.

Thanks

Anwar Hussain

Can you confirmed with your printer reseller that the Ricoh 8220 can subset duplex through Postscript only? If so, can he do it through the printer Postscript driver and prove it?

Once he has proven it, the idea is to redo the same test but while printing to a file. Then, we can look at the code and see if it is using the same commands as in the PPD (unfortunately, some printer uses commands which aren't in their PPD).

An other way to do this would be form you to set the whole job in duplex and add blank page in between form pages that need to be "simplex".

Hi Jean,

Thanks for the immediate response. Yes the subset duplex is happening when the emulation is TEXT on RICOH 8220s.

But what about the emulation Postscript?

Dear All, This issue has been resolved by changing configuration settings on the RICOH 8220s printer. Now I am able to print pdf with random tray selection, random multiplx, random paper rotations and staple.
