EAN-13 with 13 digits at start - 05/04/09 08:43 AM

Hi,

please excuse my bad english.
My start data have an 13 digits number. The number is a EAN-13 barcode, but the PlanetPress Design accept only 12 digits for EAN-13. I need also an script to cut/delete the last digit.

breckle,

The function takes a 12 digits number and converts it into a 13 digits barcode string, adding the last check digit. If you have a 13 digits string, it means you already have the check digit in your barcode number.

Create a new EAN barcode, and use this as a custom data selection:

=mid(13 digits number, 1, 12)

"13 digits number" is either a data selection using the "@" command, or a variable containing the number. Using mid, we take the first 12 digits and we leave the last one. This will allow you to use your data with the EAN barcode.

Regards,
Rapha
