Problem #1

I am converting from PP3 to PP4. I am trying to set up the fax configuration the only options that appear are:

Delete log after---

Fax Service Selection (I have Win Fax Pro selected)---

Dialing Format

I am using version 4.1.1.1575

Problem #2

When I send something to fax the log reports a success but the file goes into the error directory and nothing seems to happen to WinFax Pro.

When I was reading through some other posts I noted that XP SP2 was not supported for WinFax. I am running SP2!!

Hi John,

I just want to make sure that you have set in PlanetPress Watch in Tool->User options->Logging you have set all events with details. Open your service console in PlanetPress Watch under tools->Service console and select PlanetPress Fax, after that you can send your job to PlanetPress Watch. Send me your log. I will take a look.

OK I was wrong the log is stating fax number not defined?

The document I am using was taken from my PP3 with no changes except converting to PP4.

The watch process was imported from my currently working PP3 configuration.

The file I am testing with is a file that my PP3 faxed successfully yesterday.

I do not know why it can not find the fax number unless there is something I missed in the conversion.

John,

Can you verify in PlanetPress in your document if the option ArchiveEmail/Fax->PlanetPress Fax options numbers is checked. Press F9 in PlanetPress and do a preview, Simulation/Fax. If everything looks fine send your document back to PlanetPress Watch with PlanetPress File/Send to PlanetPress Watch.

If you mean the Basic Attributes of the page where it says:

Inlcude this page when

Printing

Archiving

Faxing

Then the answer is yes they are and were checked.

The preview worked but the palnet press watermark was on the preview. I don't know if that is a problem or not.

I resent to Watch and am still getting the same problem.

I have two pages. The first page is a planet press talk object that defines several global variables and that is all. One of these variables is the fax number. The second page is where the fax number is located. This does work in PP3. I imported this document with no changes except compiling for PP4.

Hi,

simply create a 1 page form, with a sample data having only the fax number. Select the number and in the data selection under Archive/email/fax, select fax number.
Save, and send the form to Watch.
In your Watch process select that form in the Fax output.

This is just a test to see if fax works with a simple form.

If this doesn't work it may be best to handle this internally, by clicking on Report an Issue (Top Left of this page) and someone will contact you back.

Thanks
Cosimo
