This is a problem that is being persisting long time now.
When I'm printing txt using an EPS file it looks fine. However, when I use the PP5 text editor or variable data from my CSV file the text looks very lite and it looks like componets of individual letters are missing. Please supply me with an email address to send you some samples. Thank you

Does this happen on more than one printer, and if so, are they the same make/model? Do you see the same behavior if you create a PDF instead of directly printing? Are there any PlanetPress documents that use PP text that do NOT exhibit this behavior?

It only happens on a specific printer. Imagerunner 85

When I use PDF or EPS files the text looks fine

All PP text documents look the same "Crapy"way

I would contact your printer vendor/reseller. I regularly print on imageRunner 150s and imageRunner5000s. My experience is the opposite of yours. My best output is with PP text, while various images are usually not as good. There may be issues in the print controller/RIP that need to be resolved.

Hello,

If this is only happening on one printer it would definitly lead me to believe that this is printer related more then software related.

However, you could always try to use a darker font (like bold) and see if that helps. However, if the exact same document prints correctly to multiple printers and not correctly on one, I would definitly lead towards something needs to be tweaked on the printer.

Contacting your reseller as Mark mentioned above is probably the best route to take for this.

Check which driver you are using in Windows... Is it a PCL5/PCL6 driver, or PostScript? I'm willing to bet it is a PCL driver... You should certainly inform the service tech.

You are correct. I was using a PCL driver when I printed from WORD. I also tried to use a PCL driver to printer my PP document and I still get the same results.

The #1 problem is that the printer guy says is the software I'm using and you guys say it might be the printer.

Also, you are correct, when I use a bold font it looks good. However, the client want Times New Roman.

This problem is very fraustrating and my client is realy upset with the results. I need alot of help to resolve this. PLEASE

Did I understand that you have been able to print the document on another PostScript printer and it was acceptable, but on the imageRunner 85 it is not?

Also, how is the file getting to the printer? Is it done by Watch?
