Hi,

we have a process here that sends out PDF's to various external contractors. The job runs every 30 minutes. These are known as Works Orders and we can send anywhere upto 3-400 a day. They usually work no problem at all. However, just recently (since switching to PP5) we have had a few instances where they are not being sent out. I've been on vacation for a couple of weeks so today is the first day I have had a chance to look into it. The first thing I did was check the error log in PPImage. I found this error:

Code:
TIME: 2007/01/08 09:33:47
JOB: C:\Program Files\PlanetPress Suite 5\PlanetPress Image\In\jobBFB7FEF1.ps
INFO : Processing file C:\Program Files\PlanetPress Suite 5\PlanetPress Image\In\jobBFB7FEF1.ps
DEBUG: Reading job options from input file
DEBUG: Watch Process Name : Works Orders

INFO : Initializing Jaws
INFO : To: 258664,1.pdf
INFO : Ripping File...
INFO : Conversion successful
INFO : Sending Outlook email...
ERROR: I1020 : Could not log into MAPI session: TRwMapiSession.DoLogon failed!
A TimeOut has occurred while trying to logon.
INFO : Image Process succeded
Could anyone shed some light on the reason we could be recieving this error please? Oddly the Works Orders that run half an hour before the one above worked fine - as did the one that ran half an hour after.

Thanks,

Neil.

Hi Denise,

thanks for your reply.

The domain we are on is 'Portsmouth' and the user is 'OP5IXPR' - this is both for our Windows session and our PPWatch service.

Thing is, as I said in the previous post, the Works Orders process worked fine either side of the 09:33 failure. I notice in the error log it says:

Code:
A TimeOut has occurred while trying to logon.
Could it simply be a case of too much traffic or something that caused the timeout?

Thanks,

Neil.

Hello,

May I ask for the operating system and
does the service is "Microsoft Exchange Server"?

- One last question: Do you have your Outlook open?
If the answer is yes, close it and let me know if the error occurred again.

Hi Denise,

the OS is Windows Server 2003 (recommended to us by our UK OL Contact);
We do use Microsoft Exchange Server.

We usually do leave Outlook open, however what I'll do, is close Outlook and monitor the situation for the next week or so. If we receive an error in the interim I'll post up and let you know. Due to the seemingly sporadic nature of the errors, I wouldn't be able to just close Outlook and let you know if the error corrects instantly.

Out of curiosity, do OL recommend that Outlook stays closed?

Thanks for all the help!

To add to the previous posts we are still receiving the same error as in the first post see below.

"W3237 : Could not log into Microsoft Outlook session: TRwMapiSession.DoLogon failed!"

We now keep outlook closed apart from the occasional times where we need to check on something.

Outlook is definately closed whilst these errors have occurred.

Bonjour C.Fett,

Your error is related to the connection information for logging into the Outlook session.

Does the profile you are using under PWatch Service (within PWatch, top menu -> Tools -> Configure Services) is the same as your Windows profile Outlook default account ?

- Just make sure it is the case and let me know.

Yes our accounts are the same, we only receive this error sporadically and so the error may appear one or twice in a day for a process that we run 10 times a day and the rest of the time it's fine.

The top post is an image error we had whilst trying to email a pdf but the error below which we are receiving more regulary is just a normal email output from watch.

ERROR: W3237 : Could not log into Microsoft Outlook session: TRwMapiSession.DoLogon failed!
A TimeOut has occurred while trying to logon.
ERROR: W3230 : Ms Outlook email output failed
ERROR: Send Email: W1603 : Plugin failed
