Which version of PlanetPress 5 are you using? Be sure it is the latest version (5.3.4.)

Also, it would be better to open an issue internally by selecting Report an Issue.

Thank you,

Hi,

Are you using POP3 to send emails?
If you use Outlook, does it work.
I believe there is another error message along with the Socket error 11004.
Do you have error "W3021"?
If yes, make sure the POP3 address is accessible.

Thanks
Cosimo

I am sending mail... so it would be smtp.. .and yes that is what I am using... I would prefer not to install Outlook on the server if I don't have to... How come no one can just tell me what the error number means?? That's all I need... And yes the smtp server is available to this server...

Hi,

This looks like the outgoing mail (SMTP) server option in Watch, is set to something like : www.myservername.com
Usually a socket error 11004 means that there is a problem resolving the server name to its IP address.
What you can do is enter the IP of the server directly to bypass the resolving problem.

Please let us know if that works for you.

Thanks
Cosimo

Thank you.. That seemed to be the problem... It's weird though.. The O/S can resolve the name without a problem why can't planetpress?
