Hi,

Wondering if we could use printshop mail to print 3 part ncr forms.

As it is, if we want to print 3 part ncr with numbers on them, we have to make pdfs with 3 pages of each for each number. For example, 2001, 2001, 2001, then 2002, 2002, 2002. As you could imagine this is s ton of work, especially for big jobs. I was thinking we could probobly put the numbers in with printshop then somehow print 3 of one record and so on.

Hello,

Yes, you could create this with PrintShop Mail. You would have a one-page document that prints 3 times and contains a counter function. The counter could print the same number on each of the 3 copies, up to any number that you want (you would just change the number of records). The counter function permits the definition of a starting number, zero paddings, steps, etc.

Hope this helps,
Eric.

yes, thanks, i think this will lead me in the right direction however I still do not know how you repeat 3 records.

I see how you can step (skip numbers) but not how you can repeat the same number 3 times.

Maybe I'm missing something in the expression...the numbering seems easy enough but am I supposed to print 3 copies? Collated or uncollated? Either way I'm only getting 1,2,3 etc. Not 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3 etc.

pspdfppd,

In your layout's properties window(you can go to Window->Properties if you don't see it), you'll have "Number of Copies", which is the number of copies you want for that particular layout. If you set it to 3, you should get 111, 222, 333, etc... when printing, and if you place a counter, it should number them properly.

Make sure you are using the latest 6.1.3 version of PSM. If I remember correctly, older versions used to behave differently when setting the number of copies.

Regards,
Rapha
