When trying to open a sample data file (csv) on a Mac (OS 10.4.11), after choosing "Open" from the database menu, MS Excel opens, and PSM reports that the file is locked/in use. I had to save the file out as a text file to get Excel to quit trying to open it. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

On the Mac 5.3 version, Excel files are converted to DBF using Excel. So, there is a need for a Mac Excel license in order to use Excel files.

The file should not appear to be locked however. For more convenient opening of the files, converting to text is a good solution too.

Database support will be greatly improved in the upcoming 5.4 version, which is expected this summer.
