We're having an issue with 1.4 PDF files where if the document contains a bulleted list, the bullets are being doubled in the rendered output. This issue is not present in version 1.3 PDFs, though. Our customer refuses to use 1.3 PDFs however, as they feel that would be moving backwards instead of forward with their project.

Thanks in advance,
--Lance

Lance,

I need a bit more information about your workflow... Are you using an 1.4 pdf that you import as the data, and then place bullet lists in the pp7 form, and when you preview the bullets are doubled?

How are you generating the pdf files? If you can control the pdf version, I'm assuming you're using distiller or another pdf creation tool, and not just using Image. Can you provide more details about your workflow?

Regards,
Rapha

The files are being generated by our customer and are being dropped into a folder that is being captured by PlanetWatch. It is simply an automated capture/print process. The only thing Planet Press adds to the document is OMR marks for automatic insertion.

Lance,

How does the files looks like before they are merged with our form? For example, if you add a Send to Folder branch right before calling the form, and look at the pdf, are the bullets doubled even before being merged with our form?

Rapha

The files are fine before they are merged with the form.

In this case, make sure you are using the latest version of 7, which is 7.0.1. If you still use 7.0.0, upgrade to 7.0.1 and see if that makes a difference.

If not, then we will need to take a look at the pdf and the Watch process, and try to reproduce your problem. Please open a technical support issue. Go to our web page, and go to Services->Support->Report an Issue. Once it's done, upload your pdf and your Watch config, along with your form, and we'll try to reproduce the problem.

Rapha

I am getting this same issue. The double bullets appear in my Design window and when I print, but not when I create a PDF sample. Were you able to resolve it?

No, this was never resolved. We ended up working around this with PDF Toolkit (pdftk) and GhostScript.

UPDATE: Using the form with "Digital Imaging" instead of "Add Document" in Planet Watch seems to fix this.
