Our company's customer receipt in PP can be up to two pages of order information, followed by up to two pages of coupons and promotional offers. Order information and which promos to print are provided in a datastream. Everything has been working smoothly.

Now we're trying to add product information sheets to print after the promo sheets. We have the info sheets stored on the printer as PDFs, and I added conditional pages to the design document to print PDF pages based on order information in the datastream.

Everything appears to be working smoothly in the design document. A soft proof print with promos and info sheets produces the desired pages.

Good - When we load the design doc to our testing environment and run a sample order with promotions, it prints fine.

Good - When we run a sample order with information sheets, it works fine.

Bad - When we run a sample that has promotions and info sheets, the promos print, but the PDF info sheets come out as blank pages.

For the life of me, I can't think of how the promo pages might be interfering with the PDF info pages. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:

Are these printed in printer-centric or optimised PS mode?

Actually, on further investigation, the problem is much more simple than we thought. The order that caused the info sheets not to print at all was a separate error in the datastream source.

So what's actually happening is that an extra blank page is printing after any info sheet that prints.

We're using printer-centric because we don't understand how or why to use optimised PS mode.

I found the trouble. The PDF graphic was a fraction larger than the page and was overflowing as a blank page.

I'm still interested in any reference or tutorials on Optimised PS Mode vs. Printer-Centric.
