Arnaud,
Do you mean that you would want PlanetPress Search to be able to access PDF and PDI files that are not local to your network or computer but are rather located on an FTP site?
This could work by 2 methods. The first would be to actually map the FTP drive to your computer under Windows:
- Go to Tools, Map Network Drive
- Click on "Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server"
- Click Next, then "Chose another network location", then Next
- Type in the name of the FTP, click Next
- Enter the username if necessary, then click Next
- Enter a name for the location, then click Next
- Click Finish.
- Navigate to the drive from My Computer, Network Locations. You'll be prompted for a password if it's required and you can save it from here.
From that point on you can add this "network location" from PlanetPress Search, it would be located under "My Network Places" in the Search Folder configuration.
The second method is to map the FTP site as a "drive" with a letter, and then refer to it as if it was a local drive (this might work better). However this solution would require third-party tools such as WebDrive, FTP Drive, etc.
Hope this helps,
Eric.
