We recently upgraded to a Production license for PPS v7. We switched all our processes that output to actual printers over to optimised postcript.

All our image processes are currently sending to a separate box and set up as printer centric.

My question is, do we have to switch all the image processes to use optimised postscript, or does the license cover the image processes using printer centric.

I would prefer to keep the majority of the workload for archiving on the image server.

HH_Oper,

PlanetPress Production(the new name for Server in version 7) allows you to print without watermarks on an unlicensed printer using Optimized PostScript or Print using Windows Drivers.

This only affects printing however. If you have a license for Imaging, which is a separate license than the one for Production, it will allow you to use Image to generate pdf in both Printer Centric and Optimized PostScript.

Hope that helps!

Rapha
