Hi, A new barcode called GS1 DataBars is being touted as the next best thing for coupons and retail business. Do you plan to implement support for this barcode in the near future?
Thanks, Steve

I have to admit it's the first time I've heard of this barcode. And I also have to admit I'm not sure why anyone would pick this new barcode over existing, proven 2-D symbologies (like Data Matrix or QR Code), which most current barcode readers can read out of the box. I can only assume there are some very good reasons for some industries.

Nevertheless, we'll take a look at this new symbology and see if it can be added to a future version.

Well waddaya know, it seems we already have that barcode implemented!

No wonder I never heard of this GS1 Databar, it's just a new name for an old symbology: RSS.
So just use the RSS barcode in PlanetPress and you'll get what you were looking for.

OK. Using the RSS stacked enhanced barcode, however you need to add a feature for segments.

PrintNet has a feature to select segments 2,6,8,12,22.

What is needed is the 8 segemnt option that will create two bars side by side. That is what everyone is using. These codes will be active in the industry as of 1/1/2011

We'll take a look at it as a possible future enhancement.
