Last request, it would be a great feature to be able to switch temporarily between the arrow tool and zoom tool just by holding down a key(key combination) instead of having to move the cursor to a spot on the window or to type in keys to switch.

Example, in other programs it is much quicker and easier to be using the arrow tool and when you wanted to draw a zoom box you would hold down the Ctrl-Alt-Spacebar keys draw your zoom box, then when you released the keys it automatically goes back to the arrow tool(or the previous tool you were using before)

With Planet Press if you are using the zoom tool you have to enter Ctrl-F12 to get the zoom tool but then you are stuck there and have to go to the quick access tool bar above and reselect the arrow tool. Which means during the design work you are moving and clicking a lot just to change tools.

Quarkxpress, Indesign for example, you can be working with a tool, then hold down the Ctrl-Spacebar to zoom in. Release the keys and your back to your tool. Or you can hold down the Ctrl-Alt-Spacebar and get the zoom back tool.
It would work like the current Planet Press hand tool works, hold the Ctrl-spacebar you have the tool, release and it goes away. Just need the exact same thing for zoom.

So please add to the wish list.

Have you tried using CTRL-MouseWheel to zoom in/out?

Yes, but drawing a box is quicker and more precise. And the Ctrl-F12 requires two hands. The idea is to keep the right hand on the mouse and the left hand to hold down a key combination. The key combination can't be so far apart that it takes to hands.

Thanks

Well that's exactly what CTRL-MouseWheel allows you to do.

I'm not convinced that's the case. The CTRL-Mousewheel combination will zoom on the precise area under the mouse cursor, allowing you to fine-tune your zooming as you zoom rather than having to redraw a box.

Yes, you spin the wheel over, and over, and over, and over to get to the magnification that you want instead of drawing 1 box.

I'm convinced that is the quickest and easiest.

I had to do a lot of zooming on a recent document and it did get old using the CTRL mouse wheel combination. It took about 10 good mouse scrolls to get to 200% zoom level. Having some other hot key combo that could zoom quicker would be helpful.

All right, well how about when you use the numeric keypad's + and - keys? They automatically (and quickly) zoom in and out on the cursor...

You have to use your right hand to hit the numeric keypad. The idea is to never have your right hand ever leave the mouse, so you need a zoom key combo using your left hand.

Well that's what CTRL-F12 (zoom tool) and CTRL-F10 (select tool) do.

Adding yet another key combination to perform the same task may become confusing for most end-users.
