Would it be possible to add functionality to print out a copy of the document page that is currently on the Designer workspace without having to build a data record? Provide a print option from designer for the current page.

This would be useful in having someone else proof the page(s) text.

I'm not sure I understand...

Wouldn't the "Soft-Proof" functionality in the PlanetPress Design Tool do exactly that?

No it is not the same. I want to print the image that is currently displayed in the designer window without having to dummy up the data records.

I have inherited several process jobs that each have over 200 distinct "pages" that print based on the contents of the data record.

The soft proof prints based on the data record.

I want to print a "page" without looking at the data record.

So if I understand correctly, you simply want to be able to print out the "static" portion of each page, presumably so that someone can proof that static content before putting the document into production.

If that's accurate, then I'm afraid this may prove to be next to impossible in PlanetPress Design unless your document was specifically built for it from the start (by using static overlays, for instance).

Would it be possible to do a "screen print" from the designer display window.

That is how I get around this. I maximize the window and zoom the document so it all fits in the window. I then run a screen grabber to pick up a rectangle and size it over the document. I then copy the clipboard to a Word page and expand to to as big as I can to fit the page. When I print this it is fuzzy and after a while it becomes hard to read.

I just want a way to print the static display without going through the cut and paste.

Interesting suggestion. I'll add it to our database.
