For the Recommended Requirements listed on the 7.1 release notes does this pertain to all PP Suite Products or only Design Tool?

Mark,

It pertain to all PP Suite Products.

Keep in mind that the performances will vary a lot based on the project you are developping. For example, if you have a simple data file, with no images and it's just a letter on plain white paper, this is going to work fine even if you have a system that is a bit below the requirements.

If, on the other hand, you use a complex Workflow process with huge data files and lots of forms that contains large images and complex presstalk code, even if you have above the requirements, it may still take a lot of time to process.

So the requirements, while a useful reference, should be taken with a grain of salt. It depends a lot on the workflow you intend to build.

Hope that helps!

Regards,
Rapha

Rahpael...
Can the PP Workflow (Watch, Image, etc) tools be installed on a server class machine or does it have to reside on a workstation?

Mark,

All our tools can be installed either on a workstation or a server machine. However, keep in mind that while we support operating systems such as Windows 2003 and 2008, we do not support multi-user environments, aka "Terminal Server" or "Terminal Service".

Hope this helps,
Eric.

Eric,

Does this (Terminal Service) mean if I would install all my licensed products on a server which would remove everything from the workstations, I would have to physically be logged onto that machine to edit forms and/or workflows? I am currently able to use Remote Desktop to work on the Planet Watch workflow which are on a separate machine.

Mark,

Remote Desktop is supported, since you are simply opening a Window to another machine, but it's only one user logged in at a time, you are not logging as a different user when using Remote Desktop. Terminal Server, however, allows multiple users to be logged at the same time, which has impact on memory allocation, and that is what isn't supported by our software.

Short answer:
- Remote Desktop is supported.
- Terminal Server/Services isn't supported.
