My work PC (containing Planet Press Design version 6.1) was recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. Since PP6 was no longer on my PC, I installed it but am now seeing odd behavior (can't exit Design tool, can't activate license). Before I proceed with troubleshooting, I wondered if PP6 even runs in Windows 7.

If it does, do I need to install Planet Press 5 first, activate it, then upgrade to 6, then re-activate that? Would you please briefly describe the necessary steps to re-install and activate?

Thanks!
Juan

I should also mention that I am running 32 bit Windows 7. Thanks, Juan

Hi Juan,

From what I can see in the release notes, you need to have the latest version of PlanetPress. 7.1.3.5223

The following is taken from the latest release notes.

Quote:

Upgrading versions of PlanetPress Suite older than V7.1 on Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7 will require a new activation code since those
Operating Systems were not supported in these older versions.

I believe you're right. I installed version 7 of the Design tool and didn't have any issues. Thanks for the tip!
