I have a 11x17 page doing 2-up 8.5x11 letters. In the end, I have to cut them in half and then match the letters up with the corresponding envelope. Since I am doing 2 up, it makes sense for my repetition priority to be 1) front to back, 2) left to right. This way, if i was doing 1000 letters, page 1 would be record 1 and record 501, I could cut the stack in half, and put stack 1 on top of stack 2 and be done with it, 1-1000 in order.

But it I am seeing some very wierd results. My template is merging in some rtf files. I am noticing my letter for record 4 for example, would have info in the merged rtf file from record 10. So I am actually seeing data from 2 different records on the same layout, which should be impossible.

The reason I know this is related to the repetition priority settings is that if I go 1) left to right, then 2) front to back, and keep the consectutive records on the same sheet then my output works fine. But then it is problematic because after I cut the sheet down they won't be in the proper order. I currently have a ticket open on this but recently discovered it was related to repetition priority so I thought this may help. Any else seen this behavior? Any ideas on how to fix?

davido,

Two things you can verify:

1. Do you have an even number of records? Sometimes, when you do N-Up, it can behave oddly if you do not have a number of records that is divisible by N. So in a 2-Up scenario, you should have an even number of records. If it's an odd number, try adding a blank record at the end.

2. If you're doing duplex, make sure you go to Edit->Preference->Repetition, and change the Mirroring to either Long Edge or Short Edge. This will rearrange the records properly so that the front and back matches.

Start with this, and let us know if that helps!

I am only doing 10 records on this, so the N-Up isnt an issue. 10 is divisible by 2. And this is not a duplex job. I actually have been doing some more testing and my above statement isnt true. When I change priority settings to 1) left to right, then 2) front to back it works better, but there are still data errors. Has there been any progress on this ticket? I got a call a few weeks ago saying someone was working on it but I havent heard anything since. I have already submitted my data file as well as the PSM file and RTF files for review.

OK, upon further testing this has nothing to do with repetition and priority settings. I just changed my document to be an 8.5x11 page size and just did one-up. I am still seeing the same results. I am merging in RTF files that have database data in them, this has to be where the issue is.

Davido,

You mentionned you have a case opened for this issue? If so, I suggest you call 1-866-348-5863, and enter the support issue # that you have gotten when you originally called. This will get you on the phone with the person assigned to the case, and you'll be able to continue working on the issue.

At this point, it is probably best if someone looks at your form and data.
