Hello,
is there a way to allow free input of the shipping company name as the rest of the address?

Hi Ipg,

Can you elaborate a bit on your question. The more information we have the better we can answer you.

best regards,

Marc

Well, when the customer fill the shipping form, he can enter address, postcode, city, country, due date... but can't specify the name of the company he wants the job be shipped to.
It's not logical.

Best regards

Hi Phillipe,

You could create a user input field just as the ones you mentionned and that should allow you to specify the name of the shipping company.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

regards,

Marc

Philippe,

I think what you mean is that you can edit the address so the shipping is to a different one. The company displayed here is the one under which the user has an account, and up to now we have seen no reason for a customer of one company to ship to another company, though they may ship to a different address if they have more than one branch or location.

If we are to make a feature request for the company name to be editable, can you at least provide the reason why you want to edit this field?

Edit Reason: edited for clarity

Hi Eric

We have some companies who deliver their documents to subsidiaries that do not bear the same name, design or advertising agencies to their customers...
We even have case of multiple deliveries for the same order.

Philippe,

This, along with all your other queries on this forum, are constantly gearing me towards giving the same answer that you previously had: What you require cannot be given neither by this forum nor our technical support team. You require much more than what most of our users need on an everyday basis and some very specific features that aren't available.

I'm going to have to suggest again that you contact your reseller in order to get a quote for a custom modification of the system. You can put all your eggs in one basket of course and have everything done as a single job.

Or, we could put this as a series of feature requests, but before any of them are implemented you'll have to be patient - it could be months or even years before it's done this way.

Eric,

I have to make work PSMW as we need it. We bought it because our local reseller explained it was quite easy to customize and we knew there would need adjustments... and it's my job!

Philippe,

In that case, your best bet is to study the available code and try to figure it out from the documentation I pointed you towards earlier. The only people who actually have any knowledge of the inner workings of PSMW and how to customize/extend it are the programmers who built it and the projects department.

It's also important to understand the difference between customizing a website (which means "skinning", changing colours and the layout, etc), which is easy, and extending/changing the features of the website, which requires a good knowledge of the code. I can't know what the reseller told you exactly, but I'm fairly certain he couldn't have told you that we support any part of the customization itself.

If anyone else has experience here in the forums and wants to help you, that's fine, but OL personnel probably won't be of any assistance in this matter. Neither the support department nor the training department have received any sort of training (the irony is not lost on this) about anything more than administering PSMW and using it.
