PrintShop Mail can produce any number of barcodes with its Barcode object, however "OMR" is a very vague description - it includes any number of barcode types, even custom ones.

For example, PrintShop Mail can produce Code39 barcodes, which is one recognized type of OMR.

If what you mean is the simple black bars that can appear at the edge of a page where each bar appears (or not) depending on the data on the page, or OMRs to drive hardware such as a folder/inserter, then the answer is no, PrintShop Mail Design cannot produce OMRs and can only produce barcodes.

thank you for your response. We own PrintShop Mail and are not interested at this time in adding Planet Press or any other product if it is not necessary.

Hi Tina,

You could probably simulate the OMR by drawing conditional black boxes at the edge of pages. However, depending on the complexity of the conditions required by your inserter to fulfill your needs, this could become a harsh task. If you notice the expression builder seems to contain what you need to produce your marks, it is a common workaround. If you feel you could need a hand in determining the feasability of this workaround, please feel free to contact our technical support department, they will gladly assist you in the process.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks. Regards,

Olivier
