I tried to install PP 7.2.2 on different Server.
At this time W2003 SR2 x86.

On both machines - the Setup will work proper, but if you want to start the Configuration the software crashes with "class not registered" . I have already probems with the actual Version that you can download.

Here ist the logfile with the crash-information:

StRiemke,

A couple questions:

- Are you installing the software on a Terminal Server environment? If so, this isn't supported. Turning it off before installing.
- Make sure you are logged in with an administrator account when installing the software.
- If it doesn't work, try maybe disabling anti-virus, firewalls and other security softwares and then try to perform the installation. There may be something interferring with the install process.

Start with that, and let us know if that helps!

Regards,
Raphaël Lalonde Lefebvre

administration account: yes
Anti-virus: no
Firewall: only Windows

Ts-Environment: yes, on server has ts-environment.
i have to ask the end-users (and the administration) if i can deinstall it for a time. - after the installation, TS-enviroment must be installed again.

how can we use pp with ts-environment ?

StRiemke,

No, Terminal Server is not a supported environment as it is actually in breach of the End User License Agreement (no simultaneous use of the same activation code... paraphrasing of course).

Remote Desktop Connection, as a single-user connection, is fine. But no Terminal Server.

ok, i will check this.
a positive result is

cmd\
change user /install

an run the setup again.

so, the core-dump will not come again.

i check this and give feedback.

but - the environment - i think (with my customers)
we´ll use only folder-Capture - that ist an system-service.
Nobody works on the server with the designer - so nobody use the same activation code at the same time). So the processes run as system service. Why is it in breach of the End User Licence Agreement to use TS-Services We use p.E. 5 Processes with 5 Printer ....?

StRiemke,

While the services may run fine, the issue isn't the services, it's the Workflow Configuration Tool and PlanetPress Design. Even if you only have one person actually using it, the fact exists that it is possible for anyone logging on to that server to start PlanetPress Workflow or PlanetPress Design.

The fact remains however that we do not support Terminal Server environments and our Quality Assurance team does not do any tests in these environments. If you decide to continue with this, anytime you call technical support with an issue (crash, error message, anything) you will be asked to try to reproduce the issue on a server that is not a terminal server machine since, again, we don't support it.

Please see this page in the documentation.

Thanks for the information.

For my problem:
shell ~ change user /install and reinstall the software - it seems to be ok.

if there will be any problems - i´ll post it.
The first look is fine, after my installation i will se if something is wrong. for the setup - the installation-mode on the ts-server was the right way.

Kestegoma,

PlanetPress isn't supported in Parallels - only VMWare is supported (see link I posted to documentation, it also mentions this).
