Mailroom guy quit at the beginning of this project. Either due to fear that he couldnt handle the task or just plain out a phony.

There is so much to say, too confusing to know where to start.

Software: PPv7, Pitney Bowes Smart Mailer 7 and Smart mailer Mailing Assistant.
Equipment: IS7000C for our main printing.
DI950e folder and mailer.

I have been given the task of figuring all this out based on the fact that I am familiar with photoshop......... photoshop!!?? mailers!!??
(boss I dont get the relationship, but alas - it is what it is).

I know that I cant expect the answers, heck if anything, I am putting this up for laughter as well as a little prayer that some printing angel will come out from the heavens and say, "OH THATS SIMPLE".

We have a project we need rolling 'some how' until we can get a reliable mailroom expert in the building.

The project consists of 5000 to 10000 peices of mail to go out. Each customer MAY have 3 sheets, they may have 4 sheets associated with them, its not all set to 3 and not all set to 4. I cant just say print 5 pages and be done with it - many reasons, paper conservation, green minded, contract agreements, the list goes on...

Now if we were just printing 1 sheet for 1 customer and that needed to be folded and stuffed, I could do that all day, everyday. But its not.

I need to figure out some way to tell the printer or the folder or the stuffer.... Stop, this customer has 3 pages, now fold and stuff. And then, stop the next customer has 4 pages, now fold and stuff. So on and so forth.

im sorry, this is a big cry for help, no doubt a BIG CRY FOR HELP....

BDuncanTSINC,

If you are not familiar with the software, then a good place to start learning would be our OL Learn web site:

http://ollearn.objectiflune.com/

This site contains all sort of tutorials and examples to help you better understand the various features of the software.

I would start from there, and then see if you can apply the changes to your solution. From what I understand, you may need to do some conditions to tell it that it's the last page. There may be something common to all the last pages in your data, so even if it has 3 or 4 pages, by finding this particular word or information, you can tell it's the last page.

Hope that helps!

Regards,
Raphaël Lalonde Lefebvre

Raphael is on the right track.
If you can find something in the data that marks the end or beginning of the data for each person, you can set a data splitter in the process for that point. That would allow each individual 'person' to be processed one by one and output to the printer separately.
