I have a problem when faxing out to *some* recipients. The modem will connect, send the message, then will apparently timeout. I will then retry. The customer receives the fax four times before it permanently fails.

I really doubt that this is a PlanetPress problem, but I'm hoping one of you guys have seen this before.

Here's the modem log:

Tom,

If nothing else, I can at least tell you for sure that this isn't anything related to PlanetPress (other than, of course, the fact that we're the ones sending the fax to WinFax). There may be something to change in the fax's parameters, a command that needs to be configured for it to correctly interpret the response. But You definitely need to contact US Robotics (yes, they still exist) for support on this issue.

Thanks Eric,
I'm trying to cover all bases. I have e-mailed US Robotics and I posted this message on Microsoft TechNet too!

You may need to check the modem's hardware settings. Hardware flow control (RTS/CTS) tends to be flakey for some reason on a lot of modems. I knwo USR modems required software flow control (XON/XOFF).

http://www.modemhelp.org/ is a great resource for troubleshooting modems
