Hi Tina,

If you are using version 7 you do not need to have fonts installed.

You simply click on the barcode object on the left panel of PrintShop Mail and it will place a barcode on the page for you.

After you can select the barcode properties from the right properties panel.

You have to select the proper barcode type that you want to use. Once the proper barcode is selected double click on it and then choose the datafield that contains the information you want to display in that barcode.

Make sure you follow the USPS specifications for the barcode that you select.

In the case of an IMB PrintShop Mail will accept a numerical value that contains 31 digits.

Hope this helps.

Marc

The databases that are being supplied for IMB are text.

Hi Tina,

They will need to get numerical values.I am guessing they are using somekind of software that creates the data for them and it will have the option to output the data in a numerical value.

Tina's data is "pre-encoded" for use with the IMB Font available for download from USPS RIBBS.

The Barcode object uses the "un-encoded" raw numeric data

Let me bring a little precision here.

The data Tina presents is indeed ready to be used, but with a Font. Unfortunately Fonts have not been used for barcode generation in PrintShop Mail since version 7.0, and are no longer provided for download.

Tina, what you need to do is to add the Barcode object, change the type to USPS Onecode, and enter the required information here. You need to ask the client that sends you the data for that "raw" information. Ask them to properly divide it into its parts, which are as follow:

  • Barcode Identifier: ID String of exactly 2 digits.
  • Special Service Type: String of exactly 3 digits.
  • Mailer Identifier: String of either 6 or 9 digits.
  • Serial Number: String with a length of 6 or 9 digits. The Mailer ID + Serial Number must have a total length of 15.
  • Delivery Point Zipcode: Optional string with a length of 0, 5, 9 or 11 digits.
