I would like to use the barcode tool to create barcodes, rather than barcode fonts. The barcode consists of a 11 digit number. When I create a barcode using the Code39Three font, it always scans properly with any barcode reader. When I create a code 39 barcode with the barcode tool, using the same data file, I'm unable to read it with any barcode reader. When I turn on the "human readable text" in the barcodes property it displays data identical to that of the barcode created with the Code39Three font, but the barcode scanners can't read it. What I'm I missing?

Did you by any chance use the CODE39 function in the barcode object? Because you must not use it. CODE39 is required for using the font, but not the barcode object, so that would be the first thing I would check.

If I edit the expression for the barcode created with the tool and remove the Code39 from the expression it seems to work.

Is this what you mean by barcode function?
