For variable data, no, you cannot curve it.

You cannot really curve static data either, but you can sort of work around it by using rotated text boxes. You could have one text box for every characters, and give each of them a different angle, and manually place them on the page, thus simulating curved text. This wouldn't work with variable data, however, because there's no way to dynamically create and rotate text boxes based on the number of characters.
