Hello Guys.

I got a funny situation, i've installed Futura (T1) on my PSM Server, and i've created a design using that font, but when i order the item through the "webshop" it swap the futura font with arial.

And i dont get it, since i installed the futura font with the font cd that we bought.

Can somebody help me ?

Regards,
Reprohuset.

Reprohuset,

There could be restrictions on the font, and it may not be embeddable. If that's the case, it will be replaced by another font with no restrictions, in this case, Arial.

Check with maybe your font provider or a font editor if the font has restrictions. If that's the case, you'll need to contact your font's provider and see if you can get an unrestricted version of the font.

Regards,
Raphaël Lalonde Lefebvre

Hmm.. But the font is "acting" correctly when i export from inDesign or in that case MS word.

Why is'nt it from your system ? - Is it that InDesign and Word is able to embed fonts with restrictions ?

When you say "export", are you talking about making a pdf from a Word document with the correct font, or just using the font in Word?

Im talking about exporting to pdf in both indesign and word.

There the font embeds correctly, but on my PSM server it dosent, i thing that i need to say that i didnt mention before is that the PSM Server and the machine I did the InDesign/word test on are two different machines, and OP systems (PSM is windows 7, the other one is MAC OSX the newest).

But I just wonder why ? since it is the same otf file that ive used on both machines.

Also if i open up the PSM design software and click save as PDF the font embeds correctly....

Seems strange to me !

Hi Reprohuset,

You need the font to be installed on the PSW server as well. Please let me know if the font is used on variable text and/or user input fields, or on static text. If the font is only used for variable/user input data, then you might need to create a text object outside the printing surface, and use the font on static text in that object, so the font outputs using PSW(known behavior from a past issue).

Please let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Olivier
