Has anyone seen the following error before? The server this is running on has over 200GB of disk space and when this issue was happening we still had over 100Gb free.

DEBUG: Producing an Optimized PostScript document...
ERROR: I0012 : Error merging: Not enough storage is available to process this command.
ERROR: I0006 : PlanetPress Image output failed on host 127.0.0.1
ERROR: -=-=-=-=- PP ERROR -=-=-=-=-
ERROR: PlanetPress Image: W1603 : Plugin failed - 07:28:49

This happend every time the process tried to create a pdf and place on the local drive, after restarting the service all was fine again. I just want to get to the bottom of this issue to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Thanks for your help.

Andy

The second part of the I0012 error message ("Not enough storage is available to process this command") is actually an error thrown by the operating system and which the plugin reports verbatim.

Is it conceivable that the file you were attempting to process was so large that it could have used up all your available space while generating the file? 100GB seems a bit excessive, so I think that's unlikely, but still...

Also, what was the ending timestamp of the previous task? This might give us a clue as to whether the plugin worked for a while before it raised the error.

If you can, include just a bit more of the logs, leading up to the error.

Also, make sure to post unaltered logs, as the fragment you posted originally seems to have been tampered with (the "-=-=-= PP ERROR -=-=-=" message isn't to be found anywhere in the applications).

Andy,

We've seen this error in many scenarios. Obviously, it CAN be related to hard disk space, but it could also have other causes not necessarely related to disk space.

What version are you on? If you're not on the latest version, I would recommend that you upgrade, particularly if you are still on 7.2.4 or lower. There were memory issues where if it would run for a long time, it would eventually fail to produce jobs properly and throw all kind of errors(or no error at all sometimes and just hangs), forcing us to restart services. I would recommend upgrading to 7.4.0.

Also, try rebooting your machine. We've seen cases where a simple reboot is all it took to fix the problem. If the machine has been running for a long time without reboot, it's possible that many things that have been installed are starting to interfere with each others, and a reboot usually put things back into place.

Regards,
