I'm working on my first project with the trial version, learning quickly but have run into something I can't figure out.

Various number formats don't carry over from my Excel database. I went back and made sure all of my currency fields were formatted the same way in Excel, but when I import them only some have the dollar sign and two decimal places. Others are unchanged from the way they appear in Excel.

Also, I've noticed that the software inserts commas in the 1000s places where none existed in the database file. Sometimes I also find two decimal places as well. I went back and made sure the spreadsheet wasn't formatted this way in Excel and that didn't solve the problem.

Thanks in advance for your help!

JetCity,

PrintShop Mail may be using a Number variable to read your field, and therefore use it's own numbers formatting, which by default is two decimals, with separators for the thousands.

What you can do is go in your list of Variables (if you don't see it, go to Window->Variables), select your variable, and in the Properties(again, if you don't see, go to Window->Properties), you will be able to customize how the Number shows up. Or, you can simply switch it to Text to take it "as-is" from the Excel file.

Hope that helps!

Regards,
