I checked out the documentation for triggers for a printer centric environment and the syntax we're using is correct. Is there a PPD other than the default that I should be using? Just a thought.

Chuck,
If you've installed the Windows driver for that printer, you can take a look in the Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\xxx folder (the name depends on your version of Windows) for the PPD.
Look for any filename that looks like it may be related to the printer model you have. Note that the PPD file may not necessarily have a PPD extension (yes, some manufacturers are funny that way!), so you may find the file you're looking for with a GDF extension, or perhaps a GPD extension.
You may not find anything, but it's worth a shot.

I continue to persevere through this issue but am beginning to think I am the only one here who utilizes the printer centric model and embeds the trigger at the beginning of the data stream via our application. I am getting little to no help from HP and am wondering if I should open another support issue with OL. The only new variable is the printer itself, I would think it would have to be between there and the postscript.
I appreciate any and all help. chuckl

chuckl,
It's not that you're the only one using this approach, but to be honest, if something that works on all printers, including other HP printers, doesn't work on a single HP printer, then it's very difficult for us to blame the software for it. After all, bad postscript wouldn't work on any printers.
Feel free to open a technical support issue, we can go over a couple things with you, and make sure you're not missing anything. We could even connect to your system, and check out how you setup your form. But bear in mind that it's possible that it's an issue with the printer having trouble with the postscript code, and there might not be much we can do about it.

Raphaël, Thanks for all of your help and advice. I agree with you, I can't believe it would be the postscript either. I would greatly appreciate someone looking over our form set up. should I open another support issue or I could email a form to you.
thanks again, chuckl

This issue is now resolved. HP came through with an interim firmware patch wich makes the error line and extra page go away. OL Technical Support has the firmware if anyone needs it. Thanks to OL support and all on this forum who helped along the way.
