Good Morning, we attempted to upgrade to 7.5 today and the installation went fine but when we went to start up the planetpress watch service from within office, we get the following error.
W1507 : Send configuration fialed: undefiend task(s) found.
Looking at the services log in office, we get the following error
W2000 : The service was not started: Severity: 1; Category 1;ID: 11. message: W1600 : Unknown task type at creation.
This was an install on a VM so we took a snapshot and have since then reverted back to 7.0
Any idea of what is causing these errors? Everything else with the install went fine.

Thanks for the response JF,
We are upgrading on the same server.
We uninstalled the old version, rebooted, installed new version and set the user info for the services just as they were in our old version. The other services seemed to start up just fine but PlanetPress Watch service will not start and we have to stop the service in the task manager.

Wildcard,
If I'm not mistaken, if you open PlanetPress Workflow Configuration to edit your processes, it will open the configuration file currently on the server. If you then try to resend your configuration to the watch server, it will point you directly to where the "unknown task" is, so you'll be able to pinpoint where the problem originates.
The error you have should really not happen though, unless there is a plugin that specifically doesn't work in 7.5 (which I'm not aware of), or if you've changed your license to a lower one (for example, having had Production previously, but going to Watch instead), which shouldn't be the case.

Wildcard,
If you are still having issues after all of this, then you may need to do a "clean" uninstall, and reinstall 7.5.
By "clean" uninstall I mean that after you uninstall, you delete the folders and registry keys of PlanetPress. If you're willing to do this, here are the steps:
- Make a backup of your Workflow config and documents, as well as custom plugins if you have any. - Uninstall PlanetPress. - Delete the "Objectif Lune" folder in C:\ProgramData (or in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data, if you are on Windows XP or 2003) - Delete the "Objectif Lune" folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files - Delete the following registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Objectif Lune
On 32 bits sytems: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Objectif Lune
On 64 bits systems: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Objectif Lune
And then install version 7.5. Note that you will have to reenter your activation code, and to load your backup configs and documents, and custom plugins if you had any.
If you don't feel comfortable doing this by yourself, feel free to open a technical support issue if you need assistance.

Thanks for the response Eric.
One thing I forgot to mention is that we tried installing it twice. the first time I left the workflow option on Production during installation and we use Office. I realized my mistake once I tried finding Office. I then uninstalled 7.5, rebooted and installed it again but this time I saw that I could select office for the workflow. Either way I was getting the same errors but I wonder if this might be the issue?
Thank you guys for the quick response, it is greatly appreciated.

Wildcard,
I don't believe that would be the case, since this error would only happen if you actually used production-specific tasks which don't appear in Office.
My suggestion would be to try Raphael's suggestion and, if it does not work, open a technical support request. You can go to our main web page and go to Services->Support->Report an Issue, or call 1-866-348-5863 and ask for technical support

I believe it is worth a shot to do a complete uninstall. My concern is with the different magic numbers on the new installation. Isn't the activation code dependent on the magic number?

We tried the clean install and once we restarted after removing the registry keys and the directories, all of our printer drivers dissapeared that were installed on that server. I do not know how this happened as I had my eye on the drivers the entire time, I can only assume the registry key deletion may have had a part in this.
We did however find the culprit of the unknown task. It was something nested deep in our config in a section that has not been used for a a year or two.
We had to snap back to the original instance and are now fine.
Tomorrow we are attempting the uninstall/upgrade again since we have removed the issue that caused the unknown task error. I believe we will be alright with this process after the recent trial and error we went through.
