I have a document that I keep getting an error message when I try to print from PP Design: cannot open file C:\users\998\local\temp\ptkrip1276-2\temp0.eps

I can print other PP7 documents just fine.

When I send the document to PP Production, I get: W1530 Error converting document to Postscript.

Printer is an ImageRunner Pro125 VP (same as Digimaster). The Digimaster ppd is selected.

Font is Times-Roman; font type is PS printer single byte. There are also some pdf images in the document.

Any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it?

C Frost,

It looks like the form isn't generating PostScript at all, since you can't compile it and you can't even print it from Design.

There could be various causes for this. Things you can check:
- If you have pdf files, try removing them. Remove them from the Picture Resources as well. See if it makes a difference.
- Try removing some PressTalk objects, or commenting some of their code, one by one, and see if at some point you stop getting errors.
- Try removing some styles, one by one, and see if you stop getting errors.
- Try removing other objects(groups, text boxes, non-pdf images, etc...), one by one, and see if you stop getting errors.

The goal here is to find out why you aren't able to generate an output of this form, and why it doesn't compile. It's probably something in the form, and so we have to figure out what it is. That's the first step, and then once you find it, we can address it and see why it causes issues.

The problem was two pdfs that were created from a Word document using Word's built-in PDF function.

I recreated the pdfs through Acrobat Distiller and the problem was fixed.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Hello,

I am having problems to print some forms after upgrading from PP5 to PP7.
The forms used to be printed just fine using PP5 + HP 8150 printer but after the upgrade I am receiving this error at the top of the page:

=======
ERROR: typecheck
OFFENDING COMMAND: setglobal

STACK:

-dictionary-
/Adobe-japan1
-dictionary-
/ct_STyleDicts
false
========

For some forms, I can still have the page printed, besides the error. For others I get the error and a blank page.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Leo.

Before we get into more complicated troubleshooting steps, please try one simple thing. Open the Document options by double-clicking on the document icon in the Document Structure window, and then click on Compilation options. There you will see a checkbox named Do not use Virtual Memory for EPS/PDF pages. Check it, click OK, print your document and report the result here.

Hi Yannick,

Thanks for the fast answer.
I checked the box as you mentioned but I got the same error message. Next steps?

Thanks.
