I'm curious if other customers are reporting this problem.
Last week security updates from MS posted to our PlanetPress machine.
First wave was on the 14th which of course caused the system to reboot. We came in that morning and Watch was not running although the service is still configured to auto-start.
On the 15th, more updates overnight caused another reboot. Again, Watch did not auto-start.
Both Watch & Messenger services are set to Automatic in the control panel.
I have found no errors in the EventViewer at startup.
This is on XP Pro svcpack3.
It is running TrendMicro but I haven't found anything in the logs regarding PlanetPress.

Jeff, the 1st link you posted just takes me to a Welcome page. Could you be a bit more specific?
Thanks,
Tom

Another good work around - is just to go into the service itself and have it set to retry or delayed.

You can do that to the PPwatchservice.exe and it will fix the issue also.

This seems to be an issue with the PPwatch service timing out while trying to authenticate the username/password.

Best Regards,
