I am trying to embed a link in design so when the pdf is generated, the end user can select the link to navigate to a web site. Is this possible?

If you want to have the text something like http://www.objectiflune.com/ then just put that into your document and your fine it will get created into a link automatically.

If you want to have different words over the link like in HTML - eg click here to go to XX
then good luck with that!

Its not really part of the pdf spec so its really tricky to get the link around the text if your content is dynamic but you can get some info on how it works here
especially on page 18.
