Frankie,
While there is always room for improvement to anything, keep in mind that the Barcode Scan plugin also depends on the quality of the barcode itself on the image. There are external factors that are beyond the control of the Barcode Scan that can affect the barcode's readibility. For example, low resolution images risks making the barcode invalid by deforming it. Or if the image comes from a scanner, then folds in the sheet, dust, etc... could end up putting unwanted spots on the barcode that would make it unreadable.
That isn't to say that the Barcode Scan is perfect. If you are able to read a barcode with other scanners, and it's only with this one that you can't, then your concern is valid. However, it's important to make sure that the issue isn't due to factors that could be corrected to make the barcode more readable. Therefore, if you are having issues with the Barcode Scan, I recommend that you contact Technical Support, as there may be an explanation why it doesn't work, and they may be able to give you advice. You may call 1-866-348-5863, and ask for Support.
