Feature request (posted in linkedin group)
"That way I could easily determine where I've used variables or functions or Presstalk commands. With many documents and workflows reusing sections of what has been designed earlier saves a lot of time... but trying to remember which workflow I built the vbscript date reformatter in or which document object I had the Presstalk XML loop in becomes time consuming.
Being able to fire up a search function to quickly locate a key word would be extremely helpful."

Bug report:
When delete a element from a group wich their start position (x or y) is controled by a variable, the start position change to the actual x or y value at the moment of deletion. I'm using PlanetPress Design 7.5.2.7722.
For example: UP=&Y_var change to UP=2.5

Regards!

ytaler,

You start the feature request by "That way I could easily determine where I've used variables or functions or Presstalk commands...", but what is your actual request? What does this refers to? Can you give us more details?

For the "bug report", this isn't a bug. Object positions in a group are relative to that group's position, so if you remove the group, it makes sense that it would reset the object's position to a default value, since if it used the old relative position, it could potentially bring objects outside the page, since the position is now absolute outside of a group.

Hi Raphael!
Sorry for my bad English. I'm trying to improve.
When a document has many variables, and they are reused in many sections of the document, it becomes very difficult to find or change something. So this is the idea of variable finder (or function call finder) like any IDE.

On the other hand, referring to the subject of the position of objects, it is natural when it has fixed location, not variable. When the location is determined by a variable should NOT switch to a fixed position. In this case, I go object by object by changing the fixed position by a variable.

Regards!!
