Hi:
Does anyone know how to remove rebuild/update Search Database permissions from end-users? How can I avoid end-users from rebuilding or updating the SQL Server PPSearch database?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Jaime

If you open the PlanetPress Search Profile file (the .prf file) in a text editor, you will see a list of key-value pairs. One of them is named ReadOnly. Set its value to 1. This will disable all database-related menu items.

Granted this will not stop anyone who reaaally wants to update the database, but it should at least take care of the casual user or accidental clicks.

That was the solution that I needed.

Thanks Yannick.
