Hi all,

Can PSM output individual PDF's using a variable for the File name from the data?
i.e. data field has invoice number 0001, 0002, 0003 etc, output x-amount of PDF's based on variable 'invoice number' to have 0001.pdf, 0002.pdf, etc etc.
l don't think its possible but l'm are not a Guru, can someone confirm please.

Thanks

Hi ITRulz,

With just PrintShop Mail alone, while you can split a pdf on every records and save multiple splits in a folder, it won't let you control the name, and will automatically name them "XXXXXXXX_job2.pdf", "XXXXXXXX_job3.pdf", and so on...

However, it would be possible if you had PlanetPress Workflow, which can also integrate our PrintShop Mail software. It would allow you to generate a pdf file, split it and control the names of the splits. Of course, a PlanetPress Workflow license is rather expensive, especially if that's the only thing you need it for, but that's an option to consider.

With some Linux/GhostScript tricks you can get PSM to do it. We have many clients that like us to produce individual pdf of each statement mailed with a file name that is in the data. Let me know if you want me to walk through it - but this probably isn't the best place to do it!
