Hi,
Anyone has experience with Canon iR-ADV 4225 printer? We have the correct ppd from Canon, but after tried quite some paper handling options in PP document, still can't have the pages stapled. Windows printing is fine, and we can have pages stapled.
What we have now are: Finishing=Collate, Output Option=Staple Finisher G1, Page Size=Letter, Print Style=1-sided Printing,Binding Location=Long Edge(Left), Staple=True, StapleLocation=Upper Left(Single), Page Output=Auto, OutputPartition=None
For the old printer (Canon 2535i), we only need one option "1 Staple (Port LU/Land RU)" and it works.
Any suggestion?

Hi xss,
That seems like a lot of options for just stapling. Have you tried narrowing down your options to just staple? Sometimes, not all finishing options can be combined together. In fact, to confirm whether stapling works or not, what I'd do is create a new, blank PlanetPress document. Have two normal pages, then in the Document's properties, choose your Canon's ppd, and in the Advanced Paper Handling Before, just put the commands required for stapling. No collating, no tray calls, no duplexing, no other finishing options, nothing but commands required for stapling. And also make sure to only put finishing on the Document level, leave the pages to the default settings for now. Then try printing, and see whether it staples the two pages or not.
If it works, then this means you'll have to review all the options you've called, and find out which ones cannot be combined together. If it still doesn't work, then maybe go through the options of the ppd, and see whether you may have forgotten one or not. Each ppd are different, and the "recipes" are different from printer to printer, so some trial and error might be required.

I think also you need to add Execute Finishing = now on the last page.

Hi Raphaël, Thanks for your suggestion. So far I tried only "Staple=true", and "Staple=true,StapleLocation=UpperLeft(Single),Print Style=1-sided Printing". Still doesn't work The default for stplelocation is upperleft, and default for print style is 2-sided printing. I will try other options and see. GBowlsby, the only issue I have now is stapling. the pages printed are fine. Thank you!

I understand. Adding the Execute Finishing = now should execute the stapling option. I had a similar issue, and when I added the Execute Finishing = now it worked.

Hi GBowlsby, How come I don't have that option? I only have "Execution options" always "Page ejects" to have page printed. Today I got another PPD file from our network guy, which seems much better as I can select "1 Staple (Port LU/Land RU)". Since staple still doesn't work, he suggested we need "Output Options=Inner Finisher D1" as that's the only one we have. Besides, I found "Duplex" default as "On", and I have it as "Off". However, staple does not work either Now I feel the printer setting is not correct. I sent him two places we may need to change. Let's see... Thanks!
