Hello,

I'll be updating Planetpress Suite from ver 7.5.1 to 7.6.1 on a Windows server 2003 Standard edition running VMware.

Question is should we uninstall all of the Suite using the add/remove utility in Windows? Or can we simply run the update from Productions/Tools/check for updates/Update Manager/install button?

Any need to shut down services manually?

Thank you

I use the Check for Updates to download the offline install. That way if I have to reinstall for any reason, I already have the file. Note the service account config, it will be switched back to local during the install. Run the install and reconfigure the service account. There's no reason to reboot but I do any way to verify the services come backup correctly.

Thanks for the heads up Rick.
After the install the update mgr froze (while checking for additional updates is all), I actually had to end the service on it.

Surprisingly my account config didn't change, like you said I remember the last time I ran an update it changed but not this time. Although it seems like a reinstall puts in a generic password because like last time I had to update the password to get past the 1069 logon failure.
Cheers
