There is a lot of logging in PP. However our business asks for an audit trail: batx contains x records, resulting in y pdfs off which z sent to printing company on date/time and p sent to the email proces. etc.

This all preferrable in a database smile

Any ideas how i could implement something like this in the workflows?

ps, I'm quiet fluent wih vbscript and odbc

Typically, you would use metadata to gather all that information and then you can use a fairly simple script (using the metadata API) to extract the values from the metadata and write them to your own database table.

In the metadata, the data page count will tell you how many records were processed. The document count will tell you how many PDFs were created (or how many distinct documents are inside a single PDF) and the rest of the info you mention can be added earlier in your process as metadata fields at either the job or document level.
