Hi,
We have a number of planet press workflows that output to LPR Queues.

These print jobs have a number of advance paper handling rules set in accordance to our printers PPD.

Due to the complexity involved it can be half an hour - one hour before a print output is sent, which upsets the print manager no end.

To get around this I save the outputs to a PDF and get the print team to drop this pdf into a smaller workflow that re-establishes the design template and meta data in order to preserve the paper handling rules.

We are looking into the possibility of sending direct to a fiery hold queue, but aren't sure if this will work.

When we send via an LPR output queue presumably the data is in postscript? Can this be held on a fiery? Are there any solutions you can recommend that are know to work?

We are using planet press production 7

Thanks in advance

Si

Hi Si,

When using LPR output you have the possibilty to enter the queue name.

Simply enter the Queue name : Hold and your files should be sent to the hold queue on your fiery.
