Hi
With the advent of PP Connect, does OL have a plan to cease support for PP Suite? Or perhaps a commitment to keep PP Suite functional in the case of new releases of MS Windows?
Any information will be helpful in our planning.
Thanks
Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Here is an excerpt from our Product Roadmap:
Quote:

From the moment Connect was released, we planned for classic technology to continue being supported for at least 5 years after the Connect release. This happened in January 2015, which means we are planning to support all classic products until December 2019 – at least.

That said, we will support all classic (not built using OL Connect technology) products for as long as support remains commercially and technically viable.
  • Commercially viable means we have enough customers paying maintenance to fund ongoing support and maintenance of the product;
  • Technically viable means that any dependent components to our software remain available to us.

Commercial or technical viability will be reviewed every six months. We’ll investigate the situation, looking at viable alternatives or workarounds and then communicate to customers accordingly.

So, our product strategy and transition policy is designed to “bring customers” from their current world into the new one with minimal disruption to their current business whilst maximizing their ability to engage with OL Connect at their own pace.

Hope that answers your question.
