I want to use a MICR printer to print some checks.

I inserted, within PlanetPress Design, these 2 PJL instructions via Planet Press talk.

set(&no_chq,'&%STHPASSWORD$ &%SMD' + @(59,11,45) + '$' + ' &%STQ$')

When I tried to print a check, I got the following error:

ERROR: syntaxerror

check number ok )sh
pgrs (… and other information)

Any idea why I get this error?

Thank you in advance for your suggestion.

Hi Pascal1976,

I can't really help you with PJL syntax as this is outside the scope of PlanetPress and is printer-dependant, but I can suggest an alternative: use a MICR font in your PlanetPress template. PlanetPress should have a font called "MICRE13B", and you can use it to build your MICR string for your checks inside of the PlanetPress template itself. Unless you really need to use the printer-based MICR, it's a generally safer method, as it will work on any PostScript-capable printers and you won't have to use any kind of scripted commands to make it work.

If you need help with using the font, or if you don't see it, feel free to contact Support to get assistance on building your MICR string.
