This rarely happens to me but when it does it's frustrating.
I open a previous design and any object I select in the document structure will not show the red box it contains on the document.
I can open the object to see it and edit it but I can't grab it on the page to move it where I want it placed.

I can open another design and everything works fine. But when I go to the design that's having the problem it's the same. I've tried rebooting and even resetting the default setting by hitting 'control' while opening design.

Anybody have any recommendations?

Have you checked it isn't unchecked as "selectable on page" or "moveable on page" in the manipulation settings of that/those objects' properties?

Good thought Jim3108. They are checked as 'selectable on page'.
I just copied all my objects to a new design. Went back to the old design after a while and they were selectable again. How weird is that.
